These Facility Rules & Policies apply to all customers using Bedford Gym & Swim. They should be read alongside our Non-Member Terms & Conditions and Membership Terms (where applicable). By attending and using our facilities, you agree to comply with these rules at all times. Failure to comply may result in refusal of entry or removal from the facility without refund where appropriate.
1.1 All customers must shower before entering the pool.
1.2 Running, diving, rough play, or unsafe behaviour is not permitted.
1.3 Customers must follow all poolside signage and staff instructions at all times.
1.4 Jewellery and sharp items should not be worn in the pool where they may pose a risk to safety or damage to the facility.
2.1 Children under 18 must be accompanied and actively supervised at all times by a responsible adult aged 18 or over.
2.2 A maximum of three children (including babies under 1 year) may be supervised by one adult.
2.3 The supervising adult must remain in the pool with the children at all times.
3.1 Customers must not use the pool if they have experienced vomiting or diarrhoea within the previous 48 hours.
3.2 Customers diagnosed with cryptosporidium must not use the pool for 14 days following symptoms.
3.3 Customers with long hair are encouraged to tie it back or wear appropriate swimwear to maintain hygiene and water quality.
4.1 Appropriate swimwear must be worn at all times in the pool, sauna, and steam room.
4.2 Swimwear must be made from materials designed for swimming (e.g. nylon, lycra or similar).
4.3 Swimwear must be clean, appropriate, and suitable for use in a public swimming environment.
4.4 Full-cover swimwear, including modest swimwear (such as burkinis or swim leggings), is permitted where made from appropriate swim fabric.
4.5 Clothing made from non-swim materials (including cotton, denim, or everyday clothing) is not permitted in the pool.
4.6 Underwear worn beneath swimwear is not permitted.
4.7 Bedford Gym & Swim reserves the right to determine whether swimwear is appropriate.
5.1 Use of the sauna and steam room is restricted to customers aged 18 and over.
5.2 Customers should limit sessions to 15–20 minutes.
5.3 Water must only be used as intended within the sauna. Only water provided within the sauna may be used. Water from the pool must not be used.
5.4 Customers must not pour excessive water onto sauna heaters or surfaces.
6.1 Personal belongings are not permitted in the pool or poolside area, except for a towel where appropriate.
6.2 This includes footwear, bags, clothing, mobile phones, and drinks bottles, and any food or drink items.
6.3 Drinks and liquids are not permitted poolside due to hygiene and water-quality requirements, including the protection of our chlorine-free pool system.
6.4 Mobile phone use is not permitted in pool or changing areas due to privacy and safeguarding requirements.
7.1 Customers must comply with this policy at all times.
7.2 Bedford Gym & Swim reserves the right to refuse entry or remove any customer who does not comply with these rules.
7.3 Staff decisions regarding safety, behaviour, and appropriate use of the facilities are final.
1.1 Customers must behave respectfully towards staff and other users at all times.
1.2 Customers must follow all staff instructions and gym signage.
1.3 Photography or filming is not permitted on the gym floor without prior permission from management.
2.1 Use of the gym floor is restricted to customers aged 18 and over.
3.1 Equipment must be used as intended and in accordance with any instructions or guidance provided.
3.2 Customers must wipe down equipment after use.
3.3 Weights and equipment must be returned after use.
3.4 Equipment should not be monopolised during busy periods.
3.5 Dropping weights is not permitted except where appropriate for specific exercises and performed safely.
4.1 Appropriate gym clothing must be worn at all times.
4.2 Clean, closed-toe trainers must be worn.
4.3 Sandals, sliders, and bare feet are not permitted.
5.1 Customers should maintain appropriate personal hygiene in shared spaces.
5.2 Towels should be used where appropriate.
6.1 Customers should not use equipment they are unfamiliar with without guidance.
6.2 Faulty equipment must be reported immediately.
6.3 Customers must not attempt to repair equipment.
6.5 Glass items or breakable containers are not permitted in pool or changing areas.
7.1 Bags and personal belongings must not be left on the gym floor.
7.2 Lockers should be used where available.
8.1 Customers must comply with these rules at all times.
8.2 Bedford Gym & Swim reserves the right to refuse entry or remove any customer who does not comply.
8.3 Staff decisions regarding safety and conduct are final.
1.1 Classes must be booked in advance.
1.2 Customers should arrive on time. Late arrival may result in refusal of entry where appropriate.
1.3 Missed classes are non-refundable.
1.4 Late entry may be refused where it would disrupt the class or impact safety.
2.1 Customers must follow instructor guidance at all times.
2.2 Customers must behave respectfully towards instructors and other participants.
2.3 Disruptive behaviour is not permitted.
3.1 Customers should inform the instructor of any injuries or relevant medical conditions before the class begins.
3.2 Customers should work within their own limits.
3.3 Customers should not attend classes if they are unwell or may pose a risk to others.
4.1 Equipment must be used safely and as instructed.
4.2 Equipment must be returned after use.
5.1 Mobile phone use should be avoided during classes unless necessary.
6.1 Customers must comply with this policy at all times.
6.2 Bedford Gym & Swim reserves the right to refuse entry or remove any customer who does not comply.
6.3 Instructor decisions regarding participation and safety are final.
